The full-length debut from Go Robot, Go! is a welcome addition to candy-coated indie rock. With a dash of electronic toying thrown into the Beach Boys' surf attitude, the band's sunny disposition outshines its heavy use of a vocoder. Along with thriving harmonies, the voice effects put a fresh spin on the romantic, lo-fi rock of "See You on the Radio" and "Daphne." But the band is readily deceptive, as the catchy highlight "Strawberry Blonde" refers to a tall glass of beer. No matter, this is fun-in-the sun pop.
