This album featured some of la Sonora Ponceña's most popular tunes. "Nanara Cai" is a hilariously surrealistic song, "El Pío Pío" is an obligatory piece in their repertoire, and "Bomba Carambomba" is among Luigi Texidor's most diverting moments. As funny as it is swinging, this wonderful recording features Héctor Lavoe, Tito Allen, Ray de la Paz, and a relatively unknown Rubén Blades on background vocals. Producer Louie Ramírez and musical director Luis "Perico" Ortiz are notable helping hands, but, of course, pianist/arranger Papo Lucca and Texidor are the center of attention here.
