AllMusic Review by

This three-disc set of Bob Marley & the Wailers centers, like so many other Marley sets out there, on material the group recorded with Jamaican producer Lee “Scratch” Perry between August 1970 and April 1971, sessions that saw them grow and deepen into the act they needed to be, and regarded by many to be the real peak of Marley's creative arc. There are several classics here, including “Soul Rebel,” Peter Tosh's “Stop the Train,” Bunny Wailer's “Dreamland,” “Mr. Brown,” “Kaya,” “Sun Is Shining,” and “African Herbsman,” and the group’s re-imagining of Curtis Mayfield's “Long, Long Winter,” among others.
