Released with the help of "the world's #1 nightlife destination online," www.clubplanet.com, Clubplanet Party Mix finds DJ duo Crooklyn Clan offering a well-mixed, well-chosen set of mainstream party music. Going from '80s to urban to house and back again, the mix captures the 21st century spirit of mash-up by refusing to get stuck on a genre. Going from the jaunty hip-hop of House of Pain to the slick soca of Kevin Lyttle is risky, but like every other genre jump Crooklyn Clan has made, it works better than expected. Most exciting is the Rick James to Ram Jam to Aly-Us portion of the set, with Afrika Bambaataa's sparse electro classic "Planet Rock" emerging out of the very busy "The Bomb!" from the Bucketheads being a close second. With such a famous track list, Clubplanet Party Mix is a crowd pleaser and an easy way to keep guests happy. Just make sure you're copy is handy for when you're repeatedly asked "who the heck is mixing this?"
