AllMusic Review by

As its title implies, Denon's Classics at the Movies features some of the best-known classical compositions that have appeared in films. Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra, Sehr Breit (from 2001: A Space Odyssey), Ravel's Bolero (from 10), Bach's Cello Suite No. 1: Prelude (From Master and Commander), and Barber's Adagio for Strings (from Platoon) are some of the collection's highlights; Mozart, Beethoven, and Handel are also represented, as are pieces from films such as Fantasia and The Magnificent Seven. Classics at the Movies is thoroughly enjoyable for fans of film and classical music alike; its only flaw, if it can be called that, is that it doesn't dig deeper and provide even more music.
