AllMusic Review by

Following on from MCA's and Sony's concept of brief hits collections for a digital age that probably doesn't need them, Capitol's Classic Masters volume on Bobby Darin is a slim 12-track set. And since Darin recorded nearly all of his best-known hits for Atco, this one can't even anthologize "Beyond the Sea" or "Mack the Knife" or even "Splish Splash." What Classic Masters is able to include is a pair of 1963 hits -- "Eighteen Yellow Roses" and "You're the Reason I'm Living" (the latter a surprise R&B Top Ten entry) -- as well as a version of his folk-rock transformation, "If I Were a Carpenter."
