As with all the entrants in the Rebound label series, Class Reunion: The Greatest Hits of 1986 manages to freeze-frame the year with an array of different styles that had varying degrees of success with pop music fans. The set ranges from the funk-pop of Cameo's "Word Up!" to Lionel Richie's slick R&B-tinged pop smash "Dancing on the Ceiling." Series regulars are also included, like the Moody Blues with the breezy, nostalgic "Your Wildest Dreams" and ABC's "How to Be a Millionaire." This was the year that Boston returned after a long absence to score its only chart-topping single, "Amanda," and Huey Lewis & the News continued to be a dominant force on radio with the lightweight (but infectious) "Stuck With You" (the last of their number one singles). Several one-hit wonders are also featured in this set, including Austrian band Opus' "Live Is Life" and Sly Fox's "Let's Go All the Way." Lastly, the Outfield and Level 42, a couple of acts with the first hits of relatively brief hitmaking careers, round things out with the respective Top Tens "Your Love" and "Something About You."
