AllMusic Review by

This set is one of those shelf-clearing exercises that major labels like to engage in with catalog material. Three of the four recordings in this box set were all issued in the early '90s when Jerry Rivera was establishing himself as a singer of tropical pop and love songs: Abriendo Puertas (1990), Cuenta Conmigo (1992), and Cara de Niño (1993). Interestingly, the fourth offering in this set, Tributo a Frankie Ruiz, is a collection of salsa tunes originally done by the great Ruiz, and wasn't issued until 2003. Of all the records here, it is among the most debated by Rivera fans -- not to mention Ruiz's. There is no bonus material included; it's merely all four discs in a slipcase box. But it is a bargain: Clasicos retails for the price of a single disc.
