AllMusic Review by

To accompany the release of the Platinum Edition Cinderella DVD, this slightly expanded version of the soundtrack was reissued on CD. It's only slightly expanded, it must be emphasized, adding demo recordings of a couple of songs not used in the film, "I'm in the Middle of a Muddle" and "Dancing on a Cloud." These feature piano and vocals only, and while it's interesting historically, "I'm in the Middle of a Muddle" sounds more like two Tin Pan Alley guys working out (and singing) a tune in their office than a fully produced number suitable for a major cinematic release. The other two bonuses are ill-fitting sentimental adult contemporary tracks recorded shortly before this 2005 release, "Beautiful" (by Jim Brickman featuring Wayne Brady) and "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" (by Kimberley Locke). Those final two songs are placed at the very end of the disc, however, which makes the main portion (recorded in 1949) easy to enjoy on its own. And that original soundtrack is sentimental nostalgia in the better sense of the term, with the dated orchestral production and cutesy gaiety that an animated Disney treatment of a classic fairytale demands. Lyrics are included in the CD booklet.
