AllMusic Review by

This two-disc set combines George Strait's two Christmas albums in one package, 1986's Merry Christmas Strait to You and 1999's Merry Christmas Wherever You Are. There's nothing too startling here, just Strait giving some holiday classics a light honky tonk spin, and the end result is a relaxed, pleasant, and folksy collection that doesn't try to push the limits on anything. Highlights include "There's a New Kid in Town," "When It's Christmas Time in Texas," the homespun "Old Time Christmas," and the mostly spoken word "Noel Leon" (note the mirror spelling). With George Strait you always know what you're getting, and in this case, it's George Strait in the holiday spirit.
