Chris Connor Sings George Gershwin, released by Atlantic's budget subsidiary Clarion in 1964, offered a bare ten songs from the 1957 sessions later compiled on Sings the George Gershwin Almanac of Song. As far as the selection process was concerned, this one got most of the highlights: "Nice Work If You Can Get It," "A Foggy Day," and especially "Summertime," featuring an intriguing arrangement under Connor's languorous vocal. The LP earned an unlikely reissue when Collectables paired it with Chris in Person for a 2001 two-fer release.
