The 14 songs on Chicken Soup for the Soul: Love and Inspiration have been chosen for this disc because they celebrate either love or inspiration -- either within a relationship or within a person individually. Though it reaches back into the '60s on occasion, this is very heavily concentrated on selections from the '80s and '90s, which helps reinforce the slightly new age intent of the compilers. There aren't a lot of big hits here -- there's "Let's Hear It for the Boy," "Stand By Me," "I Only Have Eyes for You," and "Save the Best for Last" -- so it concentrates on songs about the topic at hand by big artists. This does result in a consistent collection, but one that will appeal primarily to those looking for a bunch of music about a particular theme instead of those looking for individual songs for their collections.
