Trumpeter Oscar Klein was given free rein on this LP and he decided to play Chicago jazz with five of his favorite musicians: his former boss, clarinetist Fatty George; trombonist Roy Crimmins; pianist Jean Pierre Blonda; bassist Isla Eckinger; and drummer Rolf Rebmann. The band runs through nine Dixieland standards (including "The Sheik of Araby," "Dinah," and "Indiana") plus Mezz Mezzrow's "Revolutionary Blues." Klein and George are both in excellent form and the music on this obscure German album is easily enjoyable.
