AllMusic Review by

Carl Davis' Chi Sound productions, distributed by 20th Century Fox, don't get the acclaim that his Okeh, Constellation, and Brunswick's sides do -- unfortunate, because these are some smooth, classy soul sounds. The Chi-lites four selections -- "Heavenly Body," an updated "Have You Seen Her," "Me and You," and the group's only Chi-Sound hit "Hot on a Thing (Called Love)" -- are comparable to their Brunswick sides. Gene Chandler smokes on "Get Down," Chi-Sound's biggest hit, and "Does She Have a Friend for Me." Also among the 15 tracks is Manchild's "Especially for You," whose lineup included Kenny "Baby Face" Edmonds. In addition, there are tracks by the Impressions, Walter Jackson, Sidney Quails, and the Windy City Orchestra.
