Chemical Generation Review

by Rob Theakston

Daft title aside, Chemical Generation is an hour-long excursion that compiles some of the biggest names in dance music from the late '90s and beyond. The compilation fluctuates from genre to genre: touching on a bit of progressive house courtesy of Rui Da Silva, Sasha and Timo Mass, big beat from Fatboy Slim and Moby, and even a smattering of Detroit techno from Laurent Garnier. Much to its credit, Chemical Generation is a very fair and balanced survey of electronic music and is a very solid way to introduce someone to the genre.
