This collection fits the mood swings of the niche movie perfectly. It is a lovable backdrop of the classic Latter-day Saints love story of Sam Roberts and free-spirited hero Charly. As a sampler of new-millennium LDS sounds, some songs may raise your eyebrows. "Diversity" is not often the first adjective to describe Mormon music, but this collection offers more than the usual set of starchy ballads. If you're looking for an LDS equivalent of Faith Hill, you've found Cassie Goalie, whose country-tainted rocker "Living out Loud" has so much energy it almost burns itself up. Those who seek some good old-fashioned hip-hop will delight in Alex Boye's well-produced "Cold Hard Streets." Even Brett Raymond found a way to be danceable on his jazzy outtake "This Craziness Is Love." If Mormons gave out awards for jazz, Raymond should also win for "Got a Thing for You," written by lead actor Jeremy Elliott.
