Cuban Oscar Munoz Bouffartique taught at the Havana Municipal Conservatory and had several hits prior to this album, notably "La Burundanga" ("Witchery"). As with many Cubans, his rightful pride in his musical heritage is expressed in song, literally, in the lyrics to "Con Dulzura." Exhortations to "baila mi guapacha" are hard to resist, and at least the first side has all the excitement of "the new Latin dance craze." Side two tapers off somewhat, but pachanga is difficult to sustain. To Bouffartique's credit, all but two tracks are originals, and those are by Cuban Juan Montoute.
