Roger "Chappo" Chapman’s vibrato-drenched vocals were the distinctive feature of both the 1960s prog/psych group Family and the follow-up ‘70s project Streetwalkers. Without missing a beat, Chapman began releasing solo albums after the demise of Streetwalkers, starting with the two albums packaged together in this two-fer: 1979’s CHAPPO and a live set released the same year. The sound is more straight-ahead rocking than his previous efforts, but still melodic and forward-thinking, and aided by the technology (synths, drum machines) of the day. The lvie album culls from the solo work, and includes some fun covers.
