20 or 30 years from now, someone's going to find this at a garage sale and wonder what the devil was going on here. An older person will have to explain that in the mid-1990s, Gregorian chants, particularly as performed by the Benedectine Monks of Santo Domingo, were briefly fashionable. For an even briefer moment in time, the satires enclosed on this disc--Gregorian treatments of "(Theme From) the Monkees," "We Will Rock You," "Losing My Religion," "Smells Like Teen Spirit," and "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?"--had some topical relevancy. After one or two spins, they were consigned to the same dusty corner occupied by hula hoops, to be regarded by subsequent generations as a peculiar relic of an equally peculiar era.
