Similar to his debut, songwriter Michael McLean presents songs he wrote in response to everyday situations he's encountered in his life. Like its predecessor, this album features the talents of singers for hire, rather than McLean's own voice. And also like its predecessor, the album liner notes give a brief story behind each song. In fact, there's very little to set this apart from You're Not Alone. The sound is similar, and all the songs touch on everyday emotions of the human and the spirit. A couple of the songs have been featured on videos popular with the Latter-day Saint audience. "Will He Really Answer Me?" and "Together Forever Someday" are two examples of songs that have captured the hearts and imagination of Latter-day Saints. However, McLean's songwriting talents actually have a broader appeal, and consequently this is another sturdy standby for uplifting listening. Just don't expect mind-blowing sound.
