AllMusic Review by

Pairing Casino Versus Japan with Freescha on a seven-track split EP is a stroke of brilliance for the Milwaukee-based Wobblyhead label. Most fans of either are fans of both, and for the few who are aware of only one, after one listen they'll soon be fans of both. Presented in an odd/even format, the EP doesn't flow perfectly, but Freescha's more varied, deeper-fried vision of Atari-era electronica sounds perfect after Casino's poppier inclusions. Also, it's immediately clear that neither act held back an excellent production from this lower-profile release; Freescha's tracks are indeed more experimental than usual, and Casino's are very inward-turning and melancholy (perhaps of older vintage than the 2004 date suggests), but the high quality-control standards are intact on both sides.
