AllMusic Review by

Dinah Shore in some of her sassiest and sexiest late-1940s sides, in a neat ten-song budget-priced package, all in surprisingly crisp and detailed sound. Woody Herman guests on "Tallahassee" and Buddy Clark appears on "My One and Only Highland Fling," but Shore is always center-stage, whether she's being bluesy ("Steppin' Out With My Baby," "It Takes a Long Long Train With a Red Caboose") or playful ("Highland Fling"). The numbers accompanied by Sonny Burke come off the strongest, while one Meredith Willson-accompanied number is the weakest musically, but even allowing for that, this unassuming little disc is one of the best introductions there is to Shore's classic period.
