AllMusic Review by

Bruce Bendinger is an ad man, a record producer and a philosopher. On Can't Sing, Don't Care, a series of performances from the '80s that were never released before, Bendinger sings in a voice similar to Michael Franks. His lyrics are sometimes insightful and witty, but at other times somewhat forgettable. Much of the music was recorded at the end of sessions or when Bendinger had some free time. Those listeners with a high tolerance for dry and quiet vocals, mostly performed at the same volume and at the same emotional level, will find this unusual set of sometimes witty lounge music to be of interest though it is not exactly Mose Allison.
