Enormous' second album, Busman's Holiday, sees their punk-spiked heavy metal given sharper relief by producer Matt Wallace. Their rough edges haven't been eliminated -- they've just been sanded down. The production both benefits and hurts the band. The visceral power of their indie debut Greetings is diminished, but they've gained a muscular, meaty guitar grind that appears to be more suited to their riff-driven songs. The group still has some trouble coming up with memorable songs -- there's only a handful on the entire record -- but they do show signs of maturation as far as their techincal ability is concerned.
