Burn Bright Review

by Jared Johnson

Burn Bright captures the live experience of U.K. worship band Trent from their church home in Nottingham. The rock-based quintet plays a solid show, revealing the cohesiveness of playing together for eight years. The CD/DVD track list includes 14 songs -- four new tracks plus crowd favorites such as "Perfect Sacrifice," "I Will Hold On," and "Love Divine." Trent's warm modern rock sound is reminiscent of the glory days of Jeff Deyo, SONICFLOOd, and Delirious? The band winds its way through the set list with natural mastery and ease, not with a lot of flash. One of the highlights of the album is the previously unreleased title track, easily one of the more intimate moments. The crowd later warms back up for favorites such as "Skin and Bones" and "Unfailing Love." The production quality is high and the audience interaction is kept to a minimum, making the album a veritable greatest-hits collection for new listeners.
