AllMusic Review by

Arguably country's answer to Spinal Tap, Gerry House has devoted his time to parodying country much as Spinal Tap parodied hard rock and heavy metal and Gwar parodied thrash. On the thoroughly entertaining Bull, the singer/composer exploits every stereotype of country imaginable and has a great deal of fun in the process. Whether turning his attention to the discomfort of excessively tight Levis on "My Jeans Are Too Tight" or singing about a negligent husband on "Meanwhile," House never fails to be amusing. House never comes across as a condescending "outsider" -- he sounds like someone whose love of country runs deep. And Bull shows that for all his clowning, he really does have a decent voice.
