AllMusic Review by

Guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and tenor saxophonist Bud Freeman teamed up for this delightful set of swing standards, also including one basic original ("Blues for Tenor"). In addition to four quintet numbers with pianist Hank Jones, bassist Bob Haggart and drummer Ronnie Traxler, there are six duets between the co-leaders that are consistently memorable. Highlights of the date include "Tea for Two," "At Sundown," "You Took Advantage of Me" and "Dinah." Despite the 20-year difference in their ages (Bud was 69 while Bucky was 49), the two masterful musicians had no difficulty communicating throughout the classic LP, one of the finest put out by Bob Thiele's Flying Dutchman label and long overdue to be reissued on CD..
