Nineteen tracks of pure bubblegum music. The songs aren't bad, just unbelievably silly. If you didn't care for "Yummy Yummy Yummy" by Ohio Express when it first came out, you won't like it any better in CD format. Some tunes are more innocuous than others, like Rare Breed's "Come and Take a Ride in My Boat," "Capt. Groovy and His Bubblegum Army" by Capt. Groovy & His Bubblegum Army, and "Jam Up and Jelly Tight," by Tommy Roe, which is actually better than its title suggests. But others, including Edison Lighthouse's "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes," Dawn's "Knock Three Times," and the Cufflinks' "Tracy" are bubblicious gems. Lovers of this style will appreciate the compilation, but bubblegum haters will have no use for the collection.
