Balancing some great salsa tracks with a few pop throwaways that haven't aged very well, Brother made for a very erratic LP. English-language crossovers like "Daddy's Home" and "Dance, Dance" sound like their shelf life ran out several months after release, while both band and vocalist sound far more enthused to be playing traditional forms on the highlights, "Nona" and "Digalen." One crossover that works very well is "Boogaloo Lebron," a great instrumental with competing horn lines and a surprisingly exploratory tenor sax solo.
