Johannes Enders' 1998 album Bright Nights features the sax player on tenor and alto saxophones, joined by Ingrid Jensen on trumpet and flugelhorn. The duo had been touring together and recorded this set on one of their days off. Along with some fluid, intuitive playing on Enders' originals like "Egon," the group plays an inspired version of Herbie Hancock's "Butterfly," which hearkens back to the '70s but updates it with a modern sensibility.
