AllMusic Review by

With clarinetist Brian Carrick influenced by George Lewis and trumpeter Norman Thatcher often emulating Ken Colyer, the results are an appealing set of 1960s-style New Orleans revival jazz. Trombonist Bill Evans (no relation to the many other musicians with the same name), banjoist Sarah Roofe, bassist Berne Attridge, and drummer Malc Murphy complete the pianoless sextet. The music is at times ragged but always full of spirit and fun. Among the 15 songs that are performed are "Put on Your Old Gray Bonnet," "Panama," "When You and I Were Young, Maggie," and "That Teasing Rag."
