This follow-up to the must-have Brazilian pop compilation sadly falls short of the high quality of its predecessor. Once again, David Byrne serves as compiler and producer, but the emphasis is on more synthesized dance tracks than the organic grooves found on the first volume. The hip-hop aesthetic sounds a bit forced on tracks like Chico Science & Nacao Zumbi's "Rios, Pontes & Overdrives." Once again, the best tracks are by Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso and Tom Ze.
