Bolero Review

by Alvaro Neder

The expressive singer Nana Caymmi delivering in Spanish old and new boleros with competent, renovated arrangements by Gilson Peranzzetta. Keyboards as string pads and other digital sounds may be cumbersome for some, but if you don't mind them and love boleros, this album is for you. Along with classics like "Tu Me Acostumbraste," "Frenesi," and "Sinceridad," there are four modern tunes by Brazilians in Portuguese. It sold more than 100,000 copies and produced her first gold record.
