AllMusic Review by

For this excellent mainstream date, the trio of clarinetist Bobby Gordon (best known for his work with Marty Grosz's Orphan Newsboys), pianist Keith Ingham and drummer Hal Smith is on such a high level that one never misses the bass. Ingham takes three unaccompanied piano solos and the full group interprets 15 mostly vintage standards, some of which are quite obscure, plus a new blues. This combination works quite well, particularly on such numbers as "Whispering," "Keep Smiling at Trouble," "Beale Street Mama," "Mammy O' Mine" and "When I Take My Sugar to Tea." Highly recommended to swing and Dixieland fans.
