AllMusic Review by

New recordings produced by former Rounder/Bullseye Blues session whiz Ron Levy. Part of a projected series highlighting regional blues scenes, this volume features three of Dallas, Texas' more unsung, but interesting, bluesmen. Kicking off with the sheet-metal tone of Henry Qualls' guitar work ("Squirrel Sandwich," "Elmo Boogie") to the citified sound of pianist Big Al Dupree ("Waitin' On My Rider") to the B.B. King-inspired style of Charles Young and "Jr. Boy" Jones (featuring a six minute B.B./Little Joe Blue medley), this collection gives an idea of the marvelous cross-section of blues still alive in the Dallas area.
