These selections were chosen as concert highlights, mostly in short form, from Blue Note stable artists, featuring two last-time performances and some potent Latin jazz. Chet Baker's "Like Someone in Love" and Dexter Gordon's "Bop!" were recorded before their passing. Chucho Valdés, Ray Barretto, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and Jane Bunnett spice up with descarga, guaguanco, and montuno. There are also more contemporary jazz pieces from Charlie Hunter, Joe Lovano, and Renee Rosnes; Cassandra Wilson's take on "Tupelo Honey"; and an odd or end as filler.
