Blue Note Records, one of jazz's most successful and influential labels, takes listeners on a guided tour through the genre on Blue Note 101: A Jazz Introduction. Looking to provide an entry-level glimpse into the genre, the label offers up a collection featuring heavy hitters like John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Herbie Hancock, and Art Blakey, providing new listeners with a solid foundation from which to begin their exploration of jazz. At just ten tracks, it doesn't cover everything, but it's certainly enough to get any jazz neophyte started without overwhelming them with the enormity of the label's sprawling catalog.
