AllMusic Review by Rob Theakston

Amidst the barrage of compilations thrown together under the guise of "chill-out," this is chill-out music proper. Although it has few direct ties to the city, the second installment in the Chicago Dusties series compiles some choice obscure album material, which many would consider essential to blue-light basement parties of yesteryear. While relaxed gems like Eddie Kendricks' classic "Honey Brown" don't necessarily mix well with Tommy James' "Crystal Blue Persuasion" from a musical standpoint, thematically the compilation gels quite cohesively. It's a wonderful supplement to any after party initiated in the wee hours of the morning.
