This 11-track comp offers a very fine attempt at a pedestrian best-of featuring British rockers Wishbone Ash during their glory years in the early to mid-'70s. While most comps are centered around "Time Was," this one begins at the beginning, so to speak, and digs into the deep acoustic/electric sound that was their trademark, offering a view of the band as proto prog rock. Contrasting cuts include "Lorelie," the dreamy "Sometime World," the paranoid "Insomnia," and the beautiful ballad "Valediction." Sonically, these cuts are all remastered, the price point is right, and the set includes complete discographical information.
