This LP has two excellent concert performances by Hawkins. First he is heard at the 1959 Playboy Jazz Festival with a Chicago-based rhythm section performing four standards including a remake of his old standby "Body and Soul" and a strong version of "Centerpiece." The flip side moves up to 1963 as Hawkins and the Tommy Flanagan trio explore "The Way You Look Tonight" and two ballads. A nice all-around set of strong mainstream jazz comes from one of its pioneers.
