One of the better examples of late-period Charlie Parker, this CD contains performances by Bird with a Boston-based quintet (featuring trumpeter Herbie Williams). The repertoire was already largely eight years old but Parker still played such standbys as "Ornithology," "Groovin' High" and "Out of Nowhere" with enthusiasm and creativity. Previously out as a pair of Phoenix LPs, this set should delight Bird's fans.
