Starting off with 1961's "F.B.I." and finishing up with 1964's "Temptation," this 19 track set traces the biggies of England's most influential pre-Beatle group. The Shadows were the British equivalent of the Ventures, only even more influential, as lead guitarist Hank Marvin spawned hundreds of disciples in his wake. Although they became best known as pretty boy singer Cliff Richard's backing unit, they scored several instrumental hits on their own and they're all collected here from "Apache" to "The Rise and Fall of Fingel Bunt." One for fans of instrumental rock, early British rock, and just plain great listening.
