Best of Fury Psychobilly collects 20 tracks from European and South American groups, with the style ranging from overdriven rockabilly revival to full-on horror fetish psychobilly. The Sharks and Haywire keep things on the relative straight and narrow, grooving on thumping bass and heavy reverb. Os Catalepticos use that familiar bass sound, too. However, for "Gambling With a Demon," it's revved up and spit out between bursts of distorted guitar and punk-inspired drumming. Finland's Uptown Feature turns in a curious, yet effective cover of "Cat's in the Cradle," while there's more ragged craziness from Nocturnal Teds ("Graveyard Party"), and Anoraks (the blistering, almost-Oi of "Psycho's Home"). Best might be a couple of the later tracks from Kryptonix and Gotham Katz. Both groups strip their vintage sound down to a chassis, rebuilding "Dans L'Antre de Mon Ame" and "Dorene" as lo-fi psychobilly speed machines.
