In theory, the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir could have been huge in Canada, with its gospel blues-based sound given an eclectic twist. Even with the backing of a major label, though, the band never really caught fire on the charts, instead building a modest but loyal following throughout its ten years. The compilation gathers together some of its biggest hits, best moments, and a number of rarities to keep longtime fans interested. Those who knew the band only through its two major-label releases will be happy to finally get to hear a few songs from the indie cassettes. The bandmembers would split up into various new configurations (the combination of Chris Brown and Kate Fenner making the most noise), but this compilation release shows fans just what they lost.
