AllMusic Review by

A star right out of the box with her debut single "She's in Love with the Boy," Trisha Yearwood's country-pop crossover style made her the Linda Ronstadt of the '90s, and like Ronstadt, she was arguably at her best on a midtempo ballad, where her emotionally balanced vocals seemed to carry all the losses, hopes, and wishes of the human heart. This set focuses on Yearwood's ballad side, collecting a dozen of her MCA sides, including the hits "Walkaway Joe" and "The Song Remembers When," and while it is yet another compilation of her MCA tracks, it has a slow-burning and thoughtful flow to it, and it plays to Yearwood's strengths.
