For this Swiss concert, the great swing trumpeter Buck Clayton is joined by three Swiss players (Michel Pilet on tenor, pianist Henri Chaix and bassist Isla Eckinger) in addition to the veteran swing drummer Wallace Bishop. Clayton is in particularly inspired form even though he had played the songs in this repertoire (seven swing standards plus a blues) a countless number of times. His range was at its peak during this period and Clayton comes up with consistently creative ideas on such warhorses as "All of Me," "Stompin' at the Savoy," "You Can Depend on Me" and "One O' Clock Jump." Highly recommended to swing collectors.
