AllMusic Review by

Acid house for the out of touch, Ministry of Sound's Back to the Old Skool is romanticized and exploitative and vaguely informative of the sounds shaped during one of Britain's most essential evolutions. It also sounds utterly fantastic ten years later, focusing half its energies on questionable chart success stories of the C+C Music Factory, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, and Moby variety, and the other half on your real genre-shattering, 303-molesting radicals, M/A/R/R/S, 808 State, the Stone Roses, Adamski, and A Guy Called Gerald. Like nostalgic imperialism, only better.
