Attack of the Tubes is brief, but that's its intention. With only nine tracks, this concise hits package offers two of their best recordings: the anxiety-ridden "Don't Want to Wait Anymore," their first Top 40 single, and one of the '80s best rock songs in "She's a Beauty," which scored them a number ten placing. The other tracks are indeed some of the Tubes' finest material, especially "Talk to Ya Later" with its frantic tempo and the Spinal Tap-type of humor found in both "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman" and "The Monkey Time." Even the number 52 "Tip of My Tongue" flaunts their almost-punk rock style of the '80s to a certain extent. While T.R.A.S.H. offers a dabbling into their less-commercial attempts, 1993's The Best of the Tubes presents more tracks and makes for a more complete overview.
