Low-key, soothing music fills this Armenian Folk Music compilation, which features duduk music. The duduk is an instrument of the flute family, whose sound is reminiscent of the Japanese shakuhachi: round, reedy edges and wisps between notes. Although the light percussion of the dool joins in for six of the tunes, most of the music is duduk, often accompanied by a second duduk that serves as a bass drone. Overall, the sound is very lovely, although there is little variety. A good compilation for those seeking an introduction, as well as for fans looking to own more duduk music.
