This album has two sessions recorded on the same day. Pianist Armand Hug is heard leading a septet on a four-song session that features trumpeter Mike Lala, trombonist Bob Havens, bass trombonist Emile Christian, and clarinetist Harry Shields; Raymond Burke has a guest appearance on "Easy Goin' Blues," playing harmonica. As good as those performances are, it is the four numbers from a quintet outing that are most memorable for tenor great Eddie Miller and a four-piece rhythm section romp through a mostly heated mini-set highlighted by "Buzzard's Parade." Highly recommended to New Orleans jazz fans.
